Platform Tennis Heart Rate

Some pictures showing our platform tennis group are shown on www.centralny-organizations.blogspot.com .

Wednesdays we do play tennis outdoors. On several occasions, I have taken my heart rate monitor and stored the information on my Polar S410 watch. What is nice about this system is that I can download the graph of my activity later on.

We played Canadian Doubles since we had only three people. Each person rotates to the server position where he plays the other two. Two-thirds of the time you are playing with someone else, one third playing alone. This is shown on the graph as there are periodic peaks when I am playing alone.

Above is my first heart rate graph from last night's platform tennis

Today is my first post on what I hope is a continuing series on my exercise program using a heart monitor to get in shape for my wedding.

Yesterday was my first full run ( and somewhat walk) as I finished a mile and a half in 15:53. Though I am 45, I noticed on my heart monitor over the years that I can be in high 180's when running. For this run, I started running when my monitor said 183 or higher. Due to the great running temperature in the sixties, my heart rate stayed between 177 and 181.

Mohawk Valley Living

Mohawk Valley Living

This is a new program that is on the local Utica station WKTV on Sunday mornings featuring things to do in the Mohawk Valley.

Premiere show was on Sunday, April 3 that had some nice information about a maple syrup museum here in the Mohawk Valley as well as local farmer who demonstrated making maple syrup.

As someone who is trying to highlight Central New York advantages, I appreciate this new show. I did find it interesting.
